A: Gotta disagree there since the wind still blows over the ocean and I’m sure that NOX and sulfur makes its way to civilization. Saw a story recently about a dust storm in the Sahara making its way to the Caribbean.  Molecular pollutants require less energy to move than sand obviously and will travel farther and

We’d have to have international support for such a thing. Currently they all just register in whatever country has the most lax laws and go from there. Need a way to make that impossible.

1st Gear: Of course everyone wants tweaks regulations that give them a leg up! The other and more important thing that all of them want is 1 standard to reduce development and manufacturing costs. What’s also important to note is most of the automakers are looking for the government to help influence BUYER behavior,

My ideal garage (not counting toys) has a plugin hybrid F150 and a full electric car or SUV in it. Would use almost no gas day to day. Still have the truck for towing, 4x4 and outdoors stuff. Truck would tow like a beast since electric torque and regen braking is awesome. I’d still want my 36 gallon tank for long

Which variable are you solving for? CO2 or increased tax revenue? If trying to decrease CO2, gas tax would be effective. If trying to increase tax revenue, seems a mileage based road tax would work best.  A mileage tax would also have a chilling effect on miles driven, reducing the tax collected ... but that is likely

I think that’s probably the case with any tax that is targeted at changing behavior through price. Sin taxes like taxes on booze and cigarettes disproportionaltely “hurt” the poor since the price increase is a higher % of their income. (Hurt in quotes because it doesn’t hurt anyone to smoke or drink less!)

Toxicity is a function of dose for essentially anything.

Probably not what you’re looking for, but I tend to use my Mechanix gloves as everyday gloves. Have them in my jacket pockets right now at my business casual job. Warm enough for scraping the windows in the morning, but light enough to not get hot. Durable, but cheap to replace. Can still grip things very easily. Can

Ever see a spark? They look blue to me ... <shrug>

I don’t think we should pay the kids, just let the NBA take em out of HS and put them in the development league. If the kids are getting development and a decent payday (seems top kids are worth < $100k a year) ... why go through the hassle of school?

I did and it was a pain. Wanted a Wrangler Unlimited with Dual Top Group, 6 speed manual and the tow package. Literally impossible to find.  Took ages to find a dealer that would actually order it for me.  Once I did it was super easy ... finding them was the hard part.

Reminds me of the Eagle i Thrust Hammerhead.   Jeremy gonna sue somebody!

I think we were agreeing :)

I’ll disagree with you on this one. Wagons and hatchbacks are objectively better vehicles in every way other than ground clearance. Like for like a “car” version of the “CUV” is simply better.

Probably because the Fusion was already hybrid-ized so it was a matter of adding a port and a bigger battery. Likely Ford decided to do the Fusion first since everyone else was hybird-ing sedans and they get a bit better mileage than the CUVs. There simply wasn’t an hybrid Edge at the time, so to make one a plugin

Don’t know the actual 0-60 time .... but my 2.7EB is faster than it needs to be :)

That’s my line of thinking. People like hatchbacks and they like “being tall” ... hence CUV. Everyone is trying to electrify all the things. When all things are electrified, the mileage difference is largely a moot point. If you are within charge distance, your mileage is essentially infinite (source: wife had a

I just replied the same above. Recharge during lunch and wherever I stop for the night and I’m good. Without that, no way I’d go full electric without a gas backup. Too inconvenient on road trips.

Had a plug in hybrid for a little over a year. It does change your habits ... but not significantly. Plug in when you get home from where ever. Unplug when you leave. Most of the time that’s to work in the morning and home at night so it has no trouble charging while you sleep and every morning you expect to have a

Had the same issue when I was in the market for a Wrangler Unlimited a few years ago. I had a very particular set of wants. The difficult ones were the dual top group and a 6-speed manual. Ended up needing to order one to get what I wanted.
