The same. Because they are dumb.

I’ve been thinking about Gawker for weeks, now. I want to give Brendan O’Connor shit whenever he posts about Trump, but I just don’t have the energy. That is one part of Gawker I don’t miss. Their (negative) obsession with Hillary Clinton was bizarre, and, yeah, I blame them a lot for the outcome of this election

Or, if you put it a different way, a woman who owned a business and fought a ruling specifically put in place to punish her for the colour of her skin, or Fanny Rosenfeld, a woman who couldn’t run quite as fast as one of her competitors.

A civil rights activist over one who designed airplanes? Absolutely.

The thing that I’m concerned about is apathy, that voters didn’t care if the country burned so long as they were the ones to light the match. Every time I think of someone who cast their ballot as a form of protest against the state of American politics and cursed us with what is shaping up to be a deeply retrograde

What really bothers me is I have this sinking feeling that no matter how egregiously he, and his cabinet, lie to the people, no matter how elementary it is to figure out how much he lied to, and doesn’t care about, the people ...somehow those who voted for him will remain blind to it. They will never get it. They will

This is why you don’t trust populists, kids. I don’t care whether they have a D, an R, or an I next to their name, the only thing a populist is good for is telling you that you’re right to be angry and that they can make it all better. They are not good at actually making it better.

Yeah, if you want them to build character, give them some responsibility and don’t go overboard with the gifts, but trying to indoctrinate them with your depression/angst/etc seems like a shit plan.

“There is a part of me that wants my kids to feel, at least in some relatively painless and abstract way, that the world is fucked.”

I didn’t realize your 3 and 5 year old were personally responsible for the state of the world but if you really feel like ruining their Christmas instead of doing anything proactive like, oh, I don’t know, contacting your senator or volunteering with an organization that’s actively affected by the state of things,

I miss her. :(

THAT is what a President should look like.

Seriously. There are few figures in modern American life, maybe even in our entire history who have had more fake news published about them. Not even Obama can compare, because he’s only been on the world’s radar for 12 years. Hillary’s had to deal with this shit for decades. I doubt there are many people who hate

She was an extremely qualified candidate. And obviously many people agree, as evidenced by her vote total (which I am sure you are aware is rivaled only by Obama’s). A vocal group disliking her doesn’t mean she is the worst candidate.

I know she’s a public figure and that makes it harder, but she absolutely needs to sue Alex Jones for libel.

I have a hunch that she hates it slightly more than most people.

WE can’t let this happen to us.

I was thinking that too! And she looks good in purple.

Sorry if this is superficial and weird, but her hair looks good. We could have had a President with normal fucking hair.

Sigh. She’s so intelligent and coherent and tough.
