A lot of people do this for weight reasons. Stock dual exhausts 50+ lbs, aftermarket single exhausts can be < 15 lbs. Same goes for headers.

Also build quality, suspension damping, fit/fitment of interior and exterior pieces, and interior noise levels. I love most of Subarus cars in theory until I actually ride in them for more than a few minutes. Also for a normal commuter like a Forester the CVT is horrendous and can’t really be repaired last I checked.
