Haven't Apple's data centers been powered, at least partially, by Bloom Energy's "Bloom Box" fuel cells for a while now?

I use a TiVo with Time Warner, so due to the hazards that accompany the use of Cable Cards and Tuning Adapters, I have to call technical support semi-regularly. The people at the normal call center are usually very friendly and helpful to the degree that they can be, but the real stars are at the National Cable Card

The problem is that it would still be a bridge, and would still need regular (and somewhat expensive) inspections and maintenance to ensure it remains safe, to avoid something along the lines of what the people in Green Bay, WI are dealing with. I would expect that although it may be appealing to reuse the bridge, it

Neat, except if you look up, it looks like they left the studio work lights on - you can see banks of fluorescent lights through the frosted perspex ceiling. Sort of ruins the illusion.

You're correct. The move to "just in time" cooking occurred somewhere around 1998-1999 I believe, and I don't think has changed too radically since then. (Another part of the "just in time" change was the removal of the bi-level heated case between the grill area and front line, and with it, no longer preparing

It really would be nice if Gizmodo would post some sort of notice when they bump a almost year-old article up to the front page as if it were a brand new one. The prices, modem models, link to Time Warner Cable's website, and suggestion to stick with DOCSIS 2.0 are all horribly outdated now.

As I commented to another user, you can get new black or white SB6141's. You're right that the black are primarily sold wholesale, while the white are sold retail. The sales channel the modems are sold through is the only difference between the two. I bought a (clearly) brand new black SB6141 on eBay.

The "black = used" thing is utter nonsense. Motorola (now Arris, I suppose) has both white and black versions of their modems. The black are primarily sold through the wholesale channel "OEM style" (i.e. plain brown box), mostly to cable companies to rent (or sometimes sell) to their customers, while the white ones

In this case, that wouldn't matter. It looks like they are actually opening the pump, removing the legitimate reader, and replacing it with a hacked one. Once closed up, you wouldn't be able to tell, and pulling on it wouldn't do anything.

These are just the candidate city logos. The city actually selected will use a separate design for their Olypmpiad. For example, here is London's candidate city logo, which was replaced with the pink monstrosity above once they were selected:

Recipe for a Foreman Grill perfect steak:

Yes. These have been commonly available in the "NuWave" or "FlavorWave" brand names for years now.

The author never said "TV." He said "Flat screen." You might have inferred TV, but an iMac can be accurately described as a "flat screen."

This isn't a "massive tax hike." This isn't a increase in taxes at all. This is a change in enforcement of taxes.

Yes, Penzey's Spices wants to turn the mall into their new production factory, replacing their current plant, the former Falk plant in Wauwatosa. On the other hand, there's now a competing proposal that wants to turn the mall into a "specialty mall." What that means, no one knows. With all other retail abandoning the

The key difference is that this phone is unlocked and un-subsidized - meaning production cost of this phone is less than $12. That $15 phone you bought is *highly* subsidized. The difference may not matter to you, I suppose.

I did the same as you, and came to the same conclusion.

With Nextel, it behaved exactly like a walkie talkie - it is (almost) live. There is a very slight delay as it relays through the cell network. (The reason it behaves like a walkie talkie is because it is basically the same technology as trunked digital walkie talkies that emergency responders use.)

We used to have Nextel phones in our IT department years ago. They switched us to AT&T, and even though I love my iPhone, there are many times, years later, where I *still* miss the Nextel push-to-talk.
