AMD generally for the most part has equivalent technology, ie Nvidia Hairworks vs AMD TressFX... and AMD’s solution is generally Open Source, so TressFX runs just fine on Nvidia, but closed source Hairworks has trouble on AMD hardware, because of drivers.
