This feels like what they’ve done with Star Wars. Never mind the 30 years of expanded universe story lines, they never happened. It’s a real kick in the face to people who dove in to those stories. Explain it as an alternate universe type scenario where something fragmented space/time so you’ve got dual story lines…

I see no one has mentioned the Farscape opening credits, which are amazing. They change a little every season, to reflect the storyline. My favorite is the season 3 version, which is almost haunting:
