I live in Evansville, Indiana and work in the area where this took place. Mr. Ard’s death is a tragedy as was the lack of treatment for his illness.

This. I’m all for condemning racism and white supremacy, and I firmly believe that there is systemic racism that 100% benefits white people. But a sweeping generalization is the wrong path to take.

She stated - in writing - that ALL white people are racist. That is why she was fired. It is disingenuous to claim that she was fired for condemning white supremacy.  

They just got married, and she’s. SHE contributes nothing - not even earnings gleaned from others’ pain.

The abused girl was born in the US. She is an American citizen.

I have family living in Florida who are afraid to evacuate during hurricanes, because they have had their house torn apart and most of their belongings stolen by looters in the past. Re-read the story. They actually did climb onto the car. They were also hitting it with their hands and with a pole. This guy might be an asshole, but he had good reason to be afraid. It’s on video as well.

You do realize that there are white supremacists where you live as well? And that there are hundreds of towns named after people - many of them a-holes And criminals? And thousands of people with the same names as a-holes and criminals or that are unfortunately close to or the same as unpleasant or downright repulsive…

Would a hacked nude photo absolve him of all of his faults, shortcomings, and/or crappy behavior?

It is crucial that people not blame victims. It is also important that we take steps to protect ourselves, especially since laws concerning this type of crime are few and far between. Notice that Kristen is using copyright infringement to go after the websites? Would most of us commenting here be able to use this…

The only reason that this is a story is because she is famous. Being a victim doesn’t make her beautiful, a good actress, or unworthy of criticism.

I think people have reservations about this because 1) three years in a mental hospital (in this case) is unlikely to make a real difference for this girl, and, when she gets out, she will return to a “normal” life and have plenty of opportunity to do this sort of thing again; 2) people are suspicious of the diagnosis…

Really ... if I went to either or both of my parents with that story, they would tell me to tell the whole truth immediately. If I ended up in prison, they would tell me I had it coming. They are good parents, and they love me, but they would never cover for criminal behavior, and they would be appalled at that kind…
