I have always considered Michigan too far east to be considered the Midwest, but that's just me, I suppose.

You definitely have to doctor up basic loose meat recipes in order to get something worth eating. I decided to try it when I heard of it several years ago and found it to be bland if made as written. Much more spice and cooking time than is generally called for, is required to impart any kind of flavor into the meat.

I think people need to be more specific when they say "Midwest", at least narrow it down to a state. I live in KC, MO and have all of my life, yet I have never heard of this dish, nor does it seem appealing. I have had many a breaded and fried piece of meat, but non used crackers. I know it is a thing, but we never

I really want to see this, I just hope none of the cats die. I tend to avoid movies about animals because I am such a wimp in that way.

Yeah, considering that they ended up having to skip out on the actual bachelorette party (which of course was nonsense, they could have driven there, but nitpick) there was no real reason to compare this to The Hangover except to give people a frame of reference, however inaccurate it turned out to be. I wonder how

Exactly what I thought. That curly blond hair and polka dot shirt, come on.

When our cat, who we had for eleven years, died two years ago, I thought we would wait forever to get another one. I got so lonely for a cat though that we had a new one five months later. I would have thought that was too soon, but we were ready and have been happy with our new little troublemaker ever since.

Yeah, my cat tolerates nail clipping, but he hates pretty much any other kind of grooming. He bats and bites the brush, no matter what kind we use and heaven help us when he needs any kind of medication.

I had to have watched that movie daily once it premiered on HBO. I still know all of the dialogue by heart and even though I know it is dumb and makes no sense - you cannot transfer schools just because you want to in the middle of the year, without parental permission, for starters - I can still watch it now. Joyce

Ostrich is as well. Had it in Zurich and would definitely eat it again if given the chance.

That is what I think. I actually eat better now than I did when I was 20-30 years younger; more fruits and veggies, more fish and lean meats and a lot less fried food, yet I weigh 30 lbs more. I definitely didn't exercise then either and I have always had a desk job. Age and metabolism changes have to account for a

I live in Kansas City and I would kill for a $60 ticket. We have a lot of theaters in our town and it is not cheap to see a touring show; I think the least I have paid for a halfway decent seat is $75 bucks each, and that can be for our outdoor theater during the middle of our very hot summers.

The give an award for Best Book of a Musical, no? That goes to the writer, so no one gets overlooked there.

That Falsettos number was odd. I am looking forward to seeing it on PBS, but if I wasn't already interested, that wouldn't have made me care to see the show. Sure, they wanted to include everyone and give them a chance to shine, but those behind The Great Comet didn't seem to have the same concern. Yes, they put

I don't have any hard numbers to point to, but I see national tours of shows quite frequently and also watch recording of theatrical productions; theater seems to be a lot more inclusive than movies. There are always people of color (all colors, not just black and white) nominated for a Tony or Drama Desk; can't say

If I recall correctly, there were little snippets of performances last year right before the commercial breaks, from shows other than those that were nominated. I have a cold so forgive me if I am mistaken, but something like that woudl be a good way to highlight more than just the nominated shows.

My dad actually talked like that, so even though he wasn't a racist bigot, he loved Archie Bunker because they had a lot of the same catchphrases.

Oh god, my parents took me to see Jaws, I wasn't even 5 yet. The music terrified me for years.

That is the year I was born; I didn't like Star Wars and still don't, but I did see Superman in the theater and immediately fell in love with Christopher Reeves and Superman. BTTF does especially resonate with me and yeah, Tarantino is pretty awesome.

We had to watch The Day After for a school assignment, then discuss it the next day. Since I grew up in Kansas City, where some of the movie is set (or is set close to KC) and was also shot, it really it home for us.
