Unless you have a 944, in which case it is because the ECU broke and now you have to use the bypass.

The digital number is probably the accurate number from the ECU that is used for the odometer. I believe my E92 is 5% high on the needle but when I looked at the OBD2 it was spot on.
Wasn't that before they equalized the weight of the car+driver, too?
They seriously don’t say the same thing? Is at least one of them right?
Nice at any price. But please, whoever buys one, please change the timing belt. They're not making any more of these beauties. I remember my car fondly.
That's not a Cougar is it? The last generation used something similar. Even in a major city, there's only be 3 tires in stock and they'd be almost$200.
I checked it verse gps speed, it was exact. Every one of those save maybe the ‘93 will be a cable from the left wheel or tranny to a gear driven gauge. The don’t do either of those any more.
Chevy has been making accurate speedometers for 20 years. If they can do it I'm certain many others have done it even earlier.
I hate Cougars so much. They understeer like a mad, uncomfortable as shit, and they use an unusual tire size that's hard to find and expensive AF when you order them in.
You would be surprised at how accurate most speedometers are now adays. Even my 99 blazer has an almost 100% accurate at 60 mph. My BMW also knows exactly how fast it’s going, it just chooses to tell me a much high number.
They’re money holes. If you don’t put enough money in there for stupid foglights that don’t do anything, you get stuck with the the plug of poorness that announces to everyone you pass to avoid you because you’re not affluent enough to afford the excessive lights to light up nothing (you know, you’ve got enough money…
Seriously! Is this for little old ladies? Why do you need fancy hydraulics to put the targa panel in the trunk? At first I thought it was going to be a cooler looking retractable hardtop. I would rather just have a Coupé instead.
That seems ridiculous considering people who buy a GT350-R get a plastic one that’s cheap to replace.
I thought Leno said they were plastic. But I might be thinking of the CTS-V
I’m not surpised that BMW is going to make an RV, I’m just really disappointed. Did you hear that BMW? I'm disappointed in you; I thought you were different.
Cluthes would have to be changed every time the car came back. Why would you care if 7000 rpm launches reduce clutch life if you only have the car for 2 days? As long as the car still runs and is shiny when you give it back.
Hertz has a couple Vipers, too.
Dream Car collection cars cost an arm and a leg to rent, AND you can't use your reward points on them.
Ive been saving my Hertz rewards points for something. I don't know if that would be more fun than a Corvette or not though.
The Maurader part looks okay assuming it's not rusting from the bottom up; but considering how easy a platform that would be to turbo or supercharge, I'd rather do it myself or at least pay a shop to do it for me before I bought it second hand. And then I would rather start with a much newer Town Car.
