I’m no fan of Sessions, but how is this considered contact with Russians or knowledge of others contacting Russians? This is rejection of the possibility of contacting Russians when the the idea was proposed. I don’t see how any of these revelations affects his previous testimony.

It is obvious who they are protecting and it disgusts me how racism has so openly come roaring back. There has always been issues of racism in America but it was seen as unacceptable still, now it’s out in the open and so many are joining in. WTF is wrong with people?

I’m fairly anti-capitalist but to say there are no benefits is absurd. The dog eat dog world existed before money existed, money did not create it. Money definitely allowed the concentration of the top dogs but at the same time it also allowed us to have lives comfortable enough we began to question who were are and

There’s a reason the era where the middle class was at its height was when tax levels were at their heights with the highest bracket being 91%. When your taxes are that high you look for clever ways to keep some of that money and one of those ways was investing in their employees, which was allowed to be completely

Totally worth the risk. Gotta break a few eggs if you wanna enjoy those sweet, sweet cookies.

Can we impeach a VP? Would make impeaching his demented puppet-boss less frightening

He’s absolutely within his rights, but the idea that this is only a “business decision” is suspect at best. He should just come clean and say he’s anti-union and so he’s shutting down the business, rather than hide behind some arbitrary metrics and the fact that he didn’t try to salvage the business or assets.

Powerful sole business owner tells employees not to do something, they do it, he shuts them down. They’re within their rights to unionize and he’s within his rights to shutter his company. Shutting down locations or divisions that unionize is pretty standard play book, but to shut the whole company is a newish one.

Saying there’s ‘no benefits of capitalism’ makes you hard to take seriously, but you’re also following it up with a personal attack so I’m pretty sure you’re not here for a discussion and yet the mods see fit to take your comment out of the grays. Being angry sure is the mood du jour!

Good dude is good dude.

What’s wrong with appreciating some benefits of capitalism while still appreciating many of the social support elements of socialism?

Why do you think you’re either one extreme or another? It’s pretty obnoxious to anyone who thinks the world isn’t black and white.

The only problem in that example, which if fixed may prevent that whole string of events, is the country using child labor.

What if people actually had the stones to boycott places that outsourced to such countries? It worked once against Nike, but people have forgotten. I saw people filling up at BP/ARCO the same day

It’s an obscene amount of wealth if you don’t have it, but if you talk to the people that have it or may have the potential to have it they’ll talk about it as if it’s as attainable as me getting a raise.

It’s also not more wealth than a person or a family can hope to use. Fly yourself and some friends on a private

Does he eat them when he finds them?

Uh, you’re just listing some really unfortunate truths that may or may not be related.

Is it sad some people have wealth to help the needy and they do not? Hell yes. Does it mean that you shouldn’t be able to amass that much wealth? No, I mean maybe, but why would it? If the children were fed, would it then be okay?

Why is someone amassing wealth a sign of government and economic failure?

How does this statement apply considering there are billionaires across a variety of governments with a variety of means to achieve their wealth?

If he REALLY was treating this like a business and not as a vindictive dick-bag, he would attempted to sell it, sell the assets, restructure it, or numerous other things that would have allowed him to recover/make money.

I mean, holy shit, taking the fucking archives offline is brutal. There were incredibly valuable newsworthy things on that site, and now the only way people can access them is to go trawling through Archive.org and hope that the site captured the article at issue.
