I take a crap ton of pics of a rental car before it leaves the lot. It’s time stamped irrefutable proof.

Yep, and they’ll get blamed for running into the drone too because the drone was scared for its life. #PoliceDroneLivesMatter
I dunno about shameful - that’s pretty awesome. It was clear you were dealing with the idiot who was fucking you over, so massive rage was directed in the right place. I have many regrets about my younger behaviour, but I wouldn’t apologize for this one!
Interesting - I once rented a good sized van. I could not do the walk-around because one side was parked within inches of a box truck. So when I get back they do a walk around and there’s damage on that side. I was about to protest that I had not hit anything when the guy suddenly cursed. There’s a box on the rental…
I felt really bad about it in the ensuing years, after my anger faded =(
I think you should be proud of that one X-D
I hope his wife fucks his brother at his funeral
They might get compensation without a lawsuit. The cops will have insurance to cover their stupidity.
Prevailing wisdom is that they’re “better” but it’s kind of like pointing out that Saddam Hussein wasn’t as bad as Joseph Stalin. Better doesn’t mean good.
Ha! I wish.
I’m surprised the cops didn’t arrest the pilots and charge them with destroying their property.
One of the most shameful incidents of my life occurred at an Avis rental lot, so I can commiserate with this guy’s anger. When I returned a rental car this old man inspected it and cited 2 dents that he said were not noted on the original vehicle inspection. I disputed this and had my copy to show that there were…
I don’t know if Canadian cops are any better than those in the US, but without a lawsuit I’m guessing that that poor GA pilot won’t see a dime from them. They’ll have to foot the bill for all repairs. :(
For clarity, Buttonville is a municipal airport and is scheduled to close by 2023 or thereabouts but it’s actually one of the busiest airports, measured by air traffic, in Canada. At one point about 10 years ago it ranked the 7th busiest airport with only internationals in major cities handling more volume. It has a…
Not EVERYWHERE in the US - only where servers (who make less than minimum wage) are employed. And we need to be getting away from that model, not deploying it in other spaces where people are paid a full wage.
I agree about the realities of the real world, but that doesn’t mean we condone illegal behavior. And we certainly shouldn’t adjust our behavior to make it easier for others to break the law. Also, baristas make a hell of a lot more than servers, who REALLY DO depend on tips. We need to be getting away from this…
That should be an article in and of itself. I’m waiting Lifehacker........
Naomi says that if you can’t or won’t tip, you should stay home.
You do however get a free pass to ignore the menu if it’s written in chalk on a black board by someone who never learned how to write.
Tipping to me depends on the place. There is a coffee shop in town where the baristas make a living wage (or as close as we get in the US) and people feel comfortable not tipping, you know, the way it would be in any civilized f’ing society throughout history.
