I believe your interpretation is entirely correct.
So the Queen is exempt, but her grandson’s wife is fair game for trumped up bullshit?
iHeart announced that, with Rush’s wife’s approval (read: Rush didn’t leave me with enough money, and I need more!) they will continue to use guest hosts and recycled Rush clips until they can find a proper replacement.
This is why, whenever I hear about a black person ‘fleeing’ the cops, my first response is “How is that *NOT* a perfectly reasonable and justifiable response for any person of color in *THIS* country??”
Months upon months of COProphagia in the mainstream press and wider culture will tend to result in this sort of crap.
Shit, I coulda told you that ANY corporation who says they are donating to ANY cause are lying.
Some of these jokers look very familiar. Are you sure you’re not from Meridian, Mississippi?
ETB was just a marketing banner for the real distributor/owner, Premiere Radio Networks/Clear Channel Communications/iHeart Radio. And iHeart announced that, with Rush’s wife’s approval (read: Rush didn’t leave me with enough money, and I need more!) they will continue to use guest hosts and recycled Rush clips until…
Fuck the Excellence in Bullshitting network... ugh.
We could all be doing the world service by removing the FM band from all factory radios. By removing AM radio we could keep all of the yokels from having 24/7 access to far right wing propaganda talk shows, which tends to lead to angry white bearded yokels in big sunglasses ranting about “libtards” and “civil war 2”.
Regrettably, this article is dead on if you would reasonably assume the F150 customer base contains the same people who believe the lies spewed by Limbaugh, et al on AM talk radio. Even now the Reich Wing professional liars continue to masturbate upon the decaying corpse of Limbaugh on his EIB (the manufactured…
Of course these days most major AM stations have FM translators, or are available as an HD Radio subchannel. So if you are in a populated area, AM reception is no longer essential.
Those don’t perform as well as plain old whip antennas.
Side note - when did Jalopnik get rid of the “filed to:” tags? I actually found that useful sometimes, like when looking for other articles about this truck.
My dad, a proud lifelong radio engineer (most of his work is on testing chips that operate in the microwave spectrum. Ku radars, Cell bands, etc) once told me:
I miss the excitement of the retractable power antenna. Sure, they would eventually conk out in some various state of deployed, but when they worked they were so satisfying.
I thought they left them there to make it a complete pain in the ass to remove snow from the windshield. Every time that dam thing hits me I ask “wasn’t this designed in Michigan where they get snow?”
Makes sense! Unlike most of my millennial peers, I listen to almost solely AM radio and almost never stream music to my car. The old school whip style antenna on my van, picks up my preferred local station (1110 KFAB) for an incredible distance. I can listen for about three hours on trips out of town.
Rural AM radio is one of the reasons Texas has a dangerous idiot former radio talk show host for Lt Governor. Reason enough right there to get rid of the old style antennae.
