Yet another big “screw you” from FoMoCo to people with months (or years) old orders. I want to say I can’t believe Ford has screwed this up so much, but I had a powershift Focus so...

Is the Ford GT just an F-150?

Yep.

The 911 Carrera 3.0 is not a 930, it’s a 911 Carrera. Also, 930 does not equal Slantnose, and the vast majority of 930s do not have that option. The picture here is of Magnus Walker’s car, which is not even a 930 but a Carrera fitted with a body kit mimicking the Porsche 935. The 935s were Group 5 race cars which

Maybe, and I’m just spitballing here, the people who choose to live in the car-free neighborhood are the people who choose to not own a car at all.

I think the 914's styling is actually based on a mid 60s Sony transistor radio. When Brock Yates described a 914 as looking like a radio it clicked because the roof looks like a handle and the mesh engine cover is a speaker grille

The Fiat X-19 came later but definitely wore it better.

Heck I’d even take a first Gen MR-2

I don’t know what the designer was thinking. The spoilers are way too wide, and there’s some kind of spinning blade on the front that doesn’t seem safe for other people on the road.

996 turbos also

I’m with you. I don’t recall seeing a coupe in real life. Maybe in print, as I knew it would have that window above the taillights before I saw the rear view pic. I’ve definitely seen the roadsters in person, and more than one Griffith 400.  I recently learned (or was reminded) that the 280i body was also offered with

That’s the one with the 5-cylinder? Yes, I’d make an exception for that, as well as the RS 3.

But I’m not fond enough of the TT and TTS to buy one.

I was just sure the TT had been discontinued. But nope. It still exists, including the TTS and the Roadster.

That said, although I love the Golf and the MQB platform, I am a bit loathe to spend $60K on a variant of either. I don’t want my sports car to be transverse-FWD-based, ultimately.

Maybe the flat brim set? I dunno, where I live the Corvette is firmly a car for “poor” young guys or a post middle age crisis car for dudes my age. Or bought used as a dedicated track car by the motorsports guys. More than half the appeal of exotics is bragging rights and the Corvette just doesn’t have them. Paper

I’m guessing they can’t afford to make 2 separate transmissions? Maybe their CVT is designed with AWD in mind, and they can’t just block off the hole for the driveshaft that heads aft?

I guess that’s the other automaker’s benefit in having a mainly FWD fleet, just slap an electric motor on the back wheels, add some

They did have pretty good low end torque, but if you could stand having the fillings vibrated out, they pulled all the way to 7k rpm and did produce more and more power as they rev’ed.

They added balance shafts later. It helped, but didn’t solve the issues completely. Eventually, it was redesigned signficantly to be less harsh and renamed the Ecotech. The Ecotech isn’t a bad engine by any means, but still has some NVH issues to this day.

Fuel is difficult to obtain in the early model, and getting it will involve baddies.

Chevy Volt, the rear seat was just too small - I’m sure it was a dealbreaker for a lot of potential buyers.
