Who doesn’t know about the Facel Vega? This is Jalopnik.... it’s sitting in the Fantasy Garage right now.

You guys always get shit for your headlines, this one is 100% accurate.

At 6'4", I can attest to bashing my head on low tailgates. Surprisingly, the hatch on my Focus rises well out of the way, but the one on my wifes Caravan is just high enough for me to clip my head on if I’m not careful. I liked the 1st & 2nd Gen CR-V because of its split tailgate.

“And a fun tailgate that swings open from the side, not the top. When was the last time you saw that?”

Honestly, I would love to see some Camry Corners at C-a-C. I would give a chuckle at not only the joke concept itself, but also the owner’s self-awareness of the joke.

A Saturn LS1 would be rather uninteresting, yes.

a camry WITH the dent

Having summited Mt. Stupid several times, I can concur. I feel like the East slope should drop more precipitously as it tends to be more of a cliff of embarrassment when someone who knows less than you asks a really obvious question that you don’t know the answer to.

It’s called mount stupid.

Focus ST will definitely be more comfortable. The problem with the Fiesta is that you don’t care. I had been test driving Focus STs, GTIs, MS3s, and WRXs for like 6 months. I went to check out the Fiesta since the price and mileage was so low. I bought it that day. Don’t test drive one unless you want to buy it.

Seen prices for a clown shoe lately? They’ve held their value freakishly well. Unless you’re cool with a salvage title, finding a decent one for $15k is tough.

Unicorn status 9-4x not cool?!?!?!

My hockey gear fits in my FiST. But you can find a Focus ST or a Mazdaspeed3 in good shape for around $15,000.

MS6 loses the ability to fold down the rear seat due to extra bracing, so gear space is compromised.

God.. good luck finding a manual one though. A phrase about “hen’s teeth” comes to mind. I know, I looked for one to replace my B4 Passat Wagon GLX 5spd, bought an 500 Abarth instead. Yeah you could swap it using WRX parts, but what a PITA that is.

Hah, I didn’t know the original design had been commissioned by Chrysler. I thought it was an original Matra/Simca design. They planned to sell it as a Talbot, but the marque was discontinued, so they went to PSA which almost took the design but in the end passed on it. Finally they went to Renault who decided to buy

Lancer Sportback Ralliart.

Stretch the budget a little and get a Focus ST. Hockey gear would not fit in a Fiesta, plus he looks like a taller dude. Those Fiestas are tiny, even for me, and I’m hardly 5' 7".

The Prizm skin was that of the JDM Toyota Sprinter.

You’re failure to look at the context of why though. Chrysler had just inherited thousands of AMC/Jeep dealers, and those dealers were part of why Iacocca wanted AMC badly. Those dealers needed product, and needed it quickly. Other than the Premeir, AMC’s lineup was either ancient or cursed with poor reputations. SUVs
