I rememberr hearing about the Allen allegations when I was maybe 12-13. Then they just went away and my thought was "Well, if they were really a big deal people wouldn't let him keep doing his thing."

Speaking for myself, I can tell you that I did not know 13 women were alleging the same thing with almost the same details. Some of that was denial, or not searching out too much info, part of that was that the allegations were spread out so it could have, possibly, been crazy fans/extortion.
