Meanwhile, the 50th is saved by a redeemed Outkast.

One of my dad's go-to anecdotes was about a newspaper column called "dress for success" about work decorum from attire to demeanor. Someone wrote in saying that he was kind of letting in the undesirables (as in, if you can't figure this stuff out for yourself, then you don't deserve it anyway), and he responded that

Only if you didn't take Chekhov out of the coffin first.

I love Thompson's books. "After Dark My Sweet" and "The Getaway" are probably my favorites, but "The Criminal" was one hell of a surprise. I was not expected a Rashamon style tale that was tragic and human.

The point was that this movie isn't just a noir pastiche or something playing around with the steamy but superficial aspects of film noir; this is the real deal. This really is a movie about obsession and human weakness.

I love Red Rock West. That's the very definition of a tight movie.

Give some of Thompson's other novels a try; he walks a very….tight high rope.

Yeah, but I've also seen contestants try to pull the "tribute to my mother/grandmother" card to deflect/cut off criticism.

In "Kitchen Confidential" doesn't he actually say flat out that if he's eating at someone's house, he wants anything BUT professional grade fare.  That's always been his message: cooking is not just for the pros, freshness and respect for the ingredients around you beats truffle oil; even the professionals who he

I think it's closer in tone to the original show.

But that's where the humor comes from.  She was a stupid kid.  I didn't like her either.  Don't know who she was, but she was an idiot.

But the point is that it is absurd.  There's no good reason to blame anyone other than her, but that never stopped anyone before.  It's a satire of how small events can suddenly turn massive when the right agitators (Underwood's  local political rival) give credence and legitimacy to even the stupid people.  There's

Also, if the cold open is about how mean, petty, or spiteful a person is, chances are it's a winner.  "Twilight Zone" did pettiness really well and that never ages.

Horror movies from the 70s and 80s are just fucking scarier.  The cheapness and the grain of the film; the slashy lighting; the rawness.

What's wrong with Katy Segal singing?  I really enjoyed the song she sang in the first season, so I think it has less to do with nepotism, and more to do with her being really talented.

You're right Chris, Rhianna should just shut up and take it if she knows what's good for her.  Fighting back against a group using her likeness without her permission would just cause more problems anyway, so it'll be over soon, and she can just keep going on.
