Also disappointing: no innovation in the triple-A segment. I feel like I’m playing the same games over and over again, without ever being surprised by a clever new idea, concept or game mechanic.

Not necessarily no, but in this case I think it does. Quality is represented not just in amount of content either. It’s gameplay first, and attention to detail. In my humble opinion Nintendo is king in this regard - but of course it’s not to everybody’s tastes.

I thought 10%?

I also own a lot of systems, but still don’t agree... I would never out of my own free will work on windows. It’s a UI nightmare, littered with legacy functionality that dates back to windows 95, and sprinkled with all kinds of ideas that are half-implemented. You’re constantly searching, and wondering why something

As they say, you get what you pay for. $10 buys you a Nintendo-quality game, which is actually very cheap!

Dragon Quest Builders was pretty fun, as far as I played it. I would certainly buy Mario Builders!

This could be pretty cool! Especially if they port all those silly japanese arcade machines.

But I like pixel art...

Pachinko is amazing. Players easily spend $10 a minute without blinking. Apparently, you need to slot in around $60 before you even have any chance of staying in the game.

Not sure but wasn’t FLCL from gainax? (or production I.G?) It’s one of the best anime ever...

Admittedly I’m curious to see how that ends up. I mean, MGS IV was already a complete mess of ideas and concepts tumbling over each other.

They’re doing it on the computers

I’m surprised at how popular these miniature games appear to be! So far, all the “cool miniatures galore” boardgames that I’ve played looked great but had very simple, random and cobbled-together mechanics. Doesn’t that bother people? Do people only buy boardgames based on how they look?

I’m not sure I get it. You can’t build a base in the normal gameplay mode? Do you have to start a separate game to build a base? What purpose does it serve —- is it just a sandbox? Or does your base get attacked or something?

The word ‘cartoon’ means different things apparently....

Well I guess Nintendo are fans of their own products too.

It seems highlight reel represents quite clearly what people are playing these days.... 1st person shooters, and only 1st person shooters, with a little fifa.

“What is this game where you are racing, pulling stunts and shooting around the whole time?”

Yeah it’s great, but they added stuff that didn’t need to be added. The original was perfect already.

Who knows why it is such a problem to rerelease/remaster the old ps2 games... even the ps3 version was just a shadow of the original.
