Personally I never really cared that much for 1st party games... I’d rather have every game released on every platform. I bought a PS4 instead of an XBox because I simply like the design better, it’s less noisy, it’s smaller, and the UI doesn’t try to sell me Doritos and Mountain Dew.

To me a console is : “switch on and play” while a pc is : “switch on, download 34 security patches, install new graphics card driver, check if your FPS is as good as people on youtube say it should be, if not, go into settings and adjust the mipmap-dithering distance to have more or less anti aliasing, spend a few…

But... 2 or 3 years after you bought your gaming PC, you will also want to replace the graphics card, cpu, or whatnot? A graphics card costs the same as a new PS4....

I think I tried that one. It works, but I also remember not finding a free spot when I needed it the most :’-( Or standing at the 7-11, getting a message “your session has expired” and all that @(!#$)! Arrrggghhh!

I fear that after a while of exploring, you’ll start to see repeating patterns, where the random values are just getting filled in differently for every planet.

Rent a pocket wifi at the airport :) It’s really worth it.

I found public wifi to be a nuisance. It’s never there when you need it, and you have to subscribe to dozens of mailing lists and make an account with 7-11, starbucks, mcDonalds, etc.

This guy’s story is more like a rant about the awful, nonsensical story behind Nathan Drake than a review. It’s a rant I fully agree with! But it belongs in a Kotaku forum post, and shouldn’t be published as being a professional review.

You’re right, I do love games that have their character development as part of the game, instead of only showing it in cutscenes. But I felt that worked the best in Uncharted 1. Here we see Nathan being genuinely surprised at what’s happening to him, and he’s genuinely scared when people start shooting at him.
