About Newton, He was quoting a skit he’d been doing recently. Because Ali wasn’t Australian, he had no knowledge of it, and nearly flattened Bert on live television. I don’t know if ‘boy’ was a racist slur in Australia at the time, but if it wasn’t, then it was an honest mistake.

I think partly in the Australian context it wasn’t intended to be racist the same way it would have been if it was in the USA - like, it seemed that it genuinely wansn’t intended to be racist. But it inadvertantly was, and it’s kinda awesome watching Ali react to that.
