Where’s Virtue’s Last Reward or Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney?
Not a Good Match For: People who actually understand good writing and liked the original games. The narrative in Dual Destinies is mediocre at best and the back-and-forth dialogue between the cast that used to be so witty is fucking painful and cringeworthy, and all the characters do is talk about “how did they commit…
I found the story of the Descent to be like playing Destiny. It’s all very lore-y but you don’t feel very important as the character throughout it. It’s easy to tell a lot of this was worked on by the Bioware Austin team since the cutscenes feel like SWTOR, the new enemies and their AI are also SWTOR-esque and the way…
I’m glad I have P.T. on my PS4 because Alison Road will not even be close to capturing the spirit of P.T. even if it looks like it on the surface.
Exactly. I wish games journalists had a little more understanding of how games work. We’re not even developers and we can tell stuff like this.
I gave it a chance long ago. It’s barren, empty and boring but not because no one plays it, and that’s why it sucks.
I don’t know. I found H3 and Reach to both still have the fun-factor that defined these shooters IMO. There’s no other shooters that have as tight mechanics while they let you moon-jump, unique non-conventional weaponry and vehicular mayhem.
Good to finally see some of the industry’s journalism representatives point out what fans have been yelling for years now.
DA:I triggered my completionist OCD. Witcher 3 didn’t because all side-quests felt like their own side-stories that were independent and mostly unrelated to the main plot. In DA:I a lot of the side(fetch) quests are super silly and lack context but they all gain you power and fill into your artificial pool of…
No, this is, by the same dude:
I’m still hearing the comment in my head from that rumor guy that NX was definitely not competing with PS4 on a power-level. Now I’m worried the 3DS-s chibi version is what NX will get, but with HD resolution. God I hope NX is at least comparable to the bigger consoles in how its games will look.
Dual Destinies was the perfect example, but then again, PLvPWAA was the example of how well it could be done (I think). Nick and Maya weren’t cheesy... they were just kind of amateur but it had a kind of charm to it.
Not saying much since we’re talking about a series that’s 90% text-reading, and that’s a lot when it has to stretch out over 7+ hours.
Butchered mess post s5, at least. I thought it was amazing until the latest season.
Mr. Freeze is fantastic, but also the obvious pick. I think by far City had all the best bosses, but I think I’ll pick Solomon Grundy. I just felt like I was playing a really good Zelda game throughout that fight and that’s all I fucking needed, and I had no idea City was THAT good.
Neil Druckmann is always so modest that I’m starting to groan.
Any interpretation that accepts the idea of fear toxin being the new Super Hero’s tool is one I won’t accept. If Batman’s successor or Gordon is using a villain’s method to do justice to crime then what the hell did the heroes learn here? The ending has implications that left me feeling completely ambivalent.
Offensive? Dude, c’mon.
