I'm guessing it's some sort of rank thing online but it could also be extra dungeons or time-trial dungeons or something like that. We might even be completely surprised and get a competetive MP mode like in PH, though hopefully it could actually feature combat this time around.

So it has the original 3DS screen-size and battery life while it weighs more. It really is the absolute worst edition of the 3DS and it looks like it's upside down because of the bulkyness around the top-screen.

The most valid critique I heard about W101 was that it was too messy. It constantly introduced new mechanics or new ways to use them, so you never got used to certain strategies. That's bad gameplay design, and it's also to be expected of Platinum. All their games are frantic and fireworks all over the place.
