Ok, that is interesting! We used to say aboriginal and really rude was 'aboriginee', I don't know when/why it changed, or even who decided. All I know is once I got to university it was the indigenous people of Australia, Traditional owners. But since different tribes own different parts everyone just sticks to

Hmm, I guess we view it differently then. I see it as her being alone and with a strong look on her face, annoyance or anger. When I'm in that position it's right before I swing around and stalk off after having a tantrum, so maybe I'm projecting.

What the hell is this supposed to be?

First, that movie is awful.

Thank you for your reply, so basically they do it on purpose for the attention? Do the artists/models do the same thing, or are they bullied into it. I have to admit, Pharell seems a bit rich man sheltered in some of his comments lately, so maybe he hasn't seen negative comments in the past..

I'm wondering if their may not be some internalised old school racist views making it harder for them to separate a coloured woman from her sexuality. Rihanna is known for being sexy, but she seems more 'in charge' in the pic, maybe they view it as sexually dominant instead of submissive?

It's more what the poses suggest. Nobody wants the female form just existing to be so sexualised that children can't even see it; that leads to a puritanical backslide similar to hardline Islamic coverings, except puritans start with long skirts/high necked tops, no bathers type of thing, not a headscarf.

I'd much rather my sisters see her totally in charge like this, than the current jeans ads we get, which are always half naked, wet or oiled up, sexual and rapey...

I don't understand why fashion editors still have these just laying around. In my country the indigenous people also have sacred items and you would never ever want to see a didgeridoo on the front of a magazine even being touched by a woman.

They were my 'designer handbag' and 'designer jewellery' back when I was a scholarship kid at a private school. None of the girls knew where I was getting them from, because they were too rich to even think about getting anything from a discount store, and were convinced I was getting it sent personally from their

Okay, I am an Aussie and still up from my yesterday, so this is the first time and the only appropriate article for me to ask a personal question dealing with condoms and my female anatomy. It may by very TMI so please skip if you just wanted to see jokes or don't want to hear awkward penis in vagina stuff, thanks!

I made a similar comment somewhere else. So by process of us both have the same idea, we must be right. It looks like the sort of design that would look amazing on the model, but having a shorter torso changed the fit and they didn't compensate..

Awesome! I have a friend who has similar pants and also rocks the look with a pastel pink blazer. I bet you're looking fine as heck in your version, with extra points for Adventure Time

I agree. Also, I believe if her breasts were raised an inch or so up and in with the cut, the top would not appear so wide. I find the box-top silhouette works a lot better when it is square or longer than wider. Wider just makes the look seem extra boxy.

They seem to do a lot of designing behind the scenes and for budget lines, as opposed to designer brands and just being the 'faces', so maybe that's where the award is coming from? I know my inner tween (tweens didn't even exist when I was one) loves picking out a bangle or clutch I like, and then seeing it's one of

I had the complete opposite reaction to losing an unexpected pregnancy, I was so surprised I was pregnant (on BC), and then before I'd mentally accepted it was real, I'd lost it. I felt that it was my fault that I had, because I hadn't been looking after myself and was working in a physical job. I never knew at age 19

My brothers and I all have mismatched jaw bones (one is smaller, one is larger). While they will be getting surgery for health reasons, mine is not nearly so bad and I only view it as a slight cosmetic vanity. Which is only visible to me apparently, in that I feel like the sides of my face are not symmetrical enough.

My friends have started referring to my boyfriends as 'the latest', which is hella awkward, since I've only had three proper boyfriends, but I do date a lot. I refer to anybody I'm seeing as my friend, and my friends as mates, which is the beauty of the Aussie language. It covers people I'm dating without the

That sounds like what I do, and am a face eczema sufferer as well if i'm not appropriately moisturised, so I understand the struggle!

After years I found water based moisturiser for extremely dry skin basically stopped my skin from producing all the excessive oil. So now I dont 'clean' or 'strip' my face. I treat it with salicylic acid, which dries the top layer of skin, then I exfoliate with a facial buffer that dead skin off, then I treat and
