I’ve beaten the first few areas and can confirm, your gun power in top down mode does as a matter of fact go down when you get hurt, (SPOILERS AHEAD) until you find an item that gives you a one shot shield from this, meaning you’ll take damage but the power won’t go down from that hit, then successive hits taken…

This is actually correct, though it doesn’t save your location, so unless you’re AT a bonfire you have to fight your way all the way back to wherever the heck you were, because quitting will respawn enemies just like using bonfires.

I used to have a hard time with the UI in these vids (though I still thought the clips were cool), but now that I’ve played it, I understand it just fine and it doesn’t feel so cluttery.
