He opened for The Hold Steady when they were touring “Boys and Girls in America”. Presumably because they both came from the Minneapolis scene. I don’t remember much about his perfromance from back then, either. The next time I heard about him was in the new MST3K.

I actually really appreciate that you didn’t do the “who is ___(arcade fire)?” Har Mar was pretty big in indie a decade ago, he had a song called “Power Lunch” that was a real jam and popped up in TV shows and things. There were a lot of chubby sweaty sexy types for a second there like the lead singer of Les Savy Fav.

I'm a huge fan of his work and his schtick is like Leisure Suit Larry I guess. Like allegedly he strips either to his boxers or naked at the end of every of his live shows and stuff.

He is not new or specific to “today’s popular culture.” I saw him open for the Strokes at the Aragon Ballroom (about 5k seat venue in Chicago) when I was in college, which was back when the Strokes were an exciting new beat combo, shortly after the turn of the century. All I remember about the show is that the sound

Like quite well known in the indie scene, popular with comedians and runs in some of those circles. Has small roles/cameos in a few movies and sitcoms and was the band leader on the Mystery Science Theatre 3000 reboot, if that gives any indication of the guy’s level of fame

No, but it does sound all too familiar for former servicemen. A friend of mine was in the 88th Airborne and also died by suicide. This is awful.

Yeah, I’m kind of baffled at people who truly thought Burger King UK was intentionally trying to make a misogynist point - I mean, it WAS a bad tweet, and a poorly executed attempt at making a good point - but you have to be truly naive to believe it was said sincerely (or else they were hacked).

The hook is super important given the medium (twitter) though. No one with half a brain tweets like they did. They knew what they were doing, did something either edgy or fucked up, and are getting called for their BS.

Its at the very least the way it was presented. The incredibly inflammatory/misogynistic phrase was presented in its own, compartmentalized way. Then just assumed the reader would read followups to get the “real meaning” of the first tweet.

seems most people are mad that their point was prefaced by a tired, misogynist joke/mindset (and invited commentary from some fools that genuinely agreed with that statement).

you’re a bad person and nobody will ever love you.

really really telling that you can’t see this person’s blingingly-obvious point.

What’s it like to have absolutely no one on your side?

Who are these magically people you’re citing who claim Song of the South wasn’t seen as racist when it was released also?”

Are you a paid advertisement for a YouTube debate?

You didn’t engage at all.  You dropped an arbitrary opinion about something she said and now you're acting like you were attacked when she responded.  Maybe take it back 20%, eh?

You’re right: Objectivity Abuse is rampant, but speaking subjectively, you’re a dick, and objectively, making no fans, here.

*sigh* you got boring quick. People with no self awareness should be more entertaining. You, however, are tedious. See ya.

Imagine being anything other than ashamed that you put this much time and energy into being a cockhead.

Oh, it’s not an opinion. It’s objectively clear to anyone reading your pathetically childish and thoughtless tirade.
