The documentary argues that he’s innocent.  The title is clickbait.

No, he was saying “I understand that privilege has helped me get where I am, but I *also* worked hard.” I think it would do a lot for the conversation on privilege if both sides acknowledged that one does not negate the presence of the other, though the ratios are rarely equal.

I don’t know why anyone is looking to Michael’s kids for a response. He didn’t molest every child he came into contact with, and the victimization covered in the documentary occurred long before they were born.  The sins of the father shouldn’t be projected onto the children and they are not obligated to answer for…

Sounds like he does, actually. He’s just still in the self-defense phase of accepting it, which is something a lot of sheltered white folk have to go through. I’m sure it is true that he worked hard to get where he is, and I appreciate that he acknowledges that his whiteness has played a role as well.

He had to work his ass off to escape the 90210 type-casting and he managed it so well. He played a creepy cult leader in a great episode of Criminal Minds and a terrifying sociopath in SVU. He was so great in Oz too, as the prisoner turned preacher who annoys the other inmates.

Never really watched 90210, but he was genuine gold as Pike, the original Scooby, in the Buffy movie.

I literally spent hours every morning in 9th grade trying to force my hair into his Dylan pompadour. And every day I had to settle for the gel-ed to absurdity Brandon hair helmet.

RIP, Mr Perry. Alongside Jordan Catalano and Spike, you leaned on the 90's highschool locker hallway of my heart with the best of them.

By all (industry) accounts, he was a really good guy. I feel like a little piece of my pre-teen heart just died...RIP Luke.

So sad. I will be watching my Buffy the Vampire Slayer Blu-Ray (original movie) in his honor.
