Ocasio-Cortez was a bartender, not a waitress. The bar tips out the wait staff, and the wait staff also tips out the bartenders, based on their percentage of alcohol sales. It sounds like the disgruntled coworker wasn’t happy with how much the bar tipped her out that shift.

What will make her extra scary to conservatives is if she cobbles together a functional, practicable plan for funding her (admittedly lofty and desirable) policy objectives.

From all the people who can claim that they personally know you, if you can find only ONE person who dislikes you, over an isolated incident that could have been an innocent mistake/miscalculation, then chances are you’re a pretty awesome person.

Well, I know a guy (also an awesome policy/activist type, and drives Beto around when he comes through Houston) who’s friends with her from college, and he says she’s the smartest person he’s ever met. So.

I would bet my paycheque that this particular waitress conned all her coworkers into doing her sidework, dicked around on her tables, and spent her time flirting in the kitchen. The fact that she bitched to their manager is sign enough for me.

I have to admit, the sheer amount of flop sweat and panic she’s inducing in so many people is pretty cheering. None of her ideas are actually that radical in 2018; even the abolish ICE thing is gaining ground, and she is not the first person calling herself a Democratic socialist in Congress.
