Anyone else a fan of the original L&O?  The "pet scientist" seems to have been typecast as a psychopath.  He played a murderer that almost got the better of ADA Cutter.

Speaking of plot holes - It went unmentioned in the episode but apparently little Carl trudged back out to the muddy creek bed to retrieve Darrel's gun from the spot that he dropped it.  Otherwise how did he come to have possession of it again to be able to give it to Shane, who gave in to Rick, who gave it back to

The question then becomes "Who is the mole?"

Cool.  Maybe that means we'll get to see him in a future episode.

First episode in a long while where some throw-away character wasn't introduced and then summarily killed off before the episode was over.
