Yeah the hunting grounds were the ones I never got. I did a few of them early and found them tedious and boring compared to the main game so I just skipped them all. I could probably get them if I wanted but I just don’t care anymore.

Spider-Man has a pretty easy platinum too. You basically get it by just playing through the game and all the side stuff. So if you really like the game and play it a lot you’ll just incidentally get the platinum. I prefer those kinds of platinums.

Having a platinum trophy be obtainable and reasonable should be the expectation instead of some mark of servitude to a game.

The writer missed some stuff, but other stuff is dead-on-balls, and really frustrating in a game that could be looking at literally 30 years of similar titles as inspiration for how to make its systems smooth and transparent.

You’re missing a pretty big distinction here. Windows is not a hardware product. iPhones and iPads are. A Windows PC is not a Microsoft product. Only the OS is. Now, if Microsoft released custom PCs with proprietary hardware, that would be a better analogy.

The problem is that Apple could be argued to be in serious violation of antitrust laws. Remember how Microsoft got judgments against it for improperly tying the Internet Explorer browser into the Microsoft Windows operating system?

Their policies apply to everything and everyone equally, it’s not like they’re singling out Epic.

Kinda like with Bobby Kotick and Activision shareholders, this story loses a lot of good will when you realize that the shareholders here are really only asking, “Why is all this money going to executives, when it should be going to us?”
