I can see “How am I being subtle!?” finding it’s way into my brain and coming out at some point. Hopefully an appropriate one. Wish me luck.

As much as I hate that smirking shit Ivy League dudes do, I must admit I’d bang him like a screen door in a hurricane.
It took the overwhelming comedic talents of Leslie Jones to make Colin Jost even remotely appealing.
Really? I read an article at the time the whole birth control coverage thing was a hot topic, and it said that the majority of them did. I wonder if it has changed since then or whether the article was just incorrect?
There was a wonderful Daily Show bit, years ago, where a correspondent tried to get a state senator who spent most of his time introducing draconian anti-abortion legislation to support an “every sperm is sacred” bill. The guy was shocked and horrified, and started babbling about bodily autonomy and how sick and wrong…
She is my new hero. She’s holding a mirror to the absurdity of bills like SB4 and addressing gun violence and saying Fuck You in a very creative and non-combative way. I love this lady.
The comment history for this one indicates trollery. I say dismiss and ignore. (Also, I agree with you.)
Not passive aggressive. Aggressive.
This reminds me of all the men who got pissed, and are still pissed, that Obamacare requires insurance companies to cover birth control for women. The same insurance companies that were already voluntarily covering Viagra. But, you know, women should only get birth control covered if they’re married and not sinning…
I like this woman’s approach; if they want Big Government sticking its nose where it doesn’t belong, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. If they’re gonna govern by Sharia, let’s be equally absurd and draconian for both sexes.
“He pushed the repeal of DADT through (thanks Clintons!)“
Not to detract from your general point, but this is a really bad understanding of the nature of presidencies. In 1992 Bill Clinton directly campaigned on totally ending the ban on gays in the military, along with a universal health care plan. When universal…
I really hope Obama is appointed as a Supreme Court Justice. That would be amazing!!!
You summed up what I’m feeling. I’m so angry at the classism (and most likely systematic racism) that led to the victim’s death, but I’m also upset at the blatant racism behind ONLY minority cops’ convictions for wrongdoing. Don’t get me wrong, all police wrongdoings should be punished, but when the only police who…
Exactly right. In contrast to other trials, where PBA fills up the spectator rows in support of the cops, PBA didn’t even send representatives down to this one. Liang was a sacrificial offering, but it’s so easy to see through all that.
I knew this was going to get a conviction. A young minority cop without any institutional ties. The NYPD basically gifted the D.A. with this case. The department did little to back him and even the PBA’s response was tepid.
That’s insane. This guy fired one shot in the dark that ricocheted and hit Gurley by accident. Did he act neglicent by pulling the trigger after hearing a sound in the dark on a stairwell? Absolutely. Did he kill a black man in cold blood execution style or slowly strangle him to death like so many other cops did.…
It worries me that with all the police shootings by white cops on black or brown citizens, it is an asian american police man who is arrested, tried and found guilty. Am I the only one who has noticed?
These standards DO apply to adults in the real world. If I made a racist remark to someone at work, I would lose my job. If we want to treat college students like adults, then they to need to understand that even legal actions can have unfavorable consequences.
