Happened at our high school too.
Happened at our high school too.
did you mean general-level in your last sentence?
At our school, the valedictorian was a guy who took no AP courses and got a 4.0. The rest of us had taken 5 to 6 AP courses, got an A- or B in those classes and got screwed out of valedictorian and salutatorian. I never really cared, but this article reminded me of GPAs and how at our school, they didn’t count AP…
But ignoring 42 white people who got in with lower test scores makes perfect sense—for the lawsuit. I hope UT shouted this fact every single time Blum got up to speak.
The thing that is most annoying about the lawsuit and how it was ALL about race is that only 5 people of color with lower test scores got in ahead of Abigail, but 42 white kids with lower test scores also got in before Abigail. Yes, I’ve repeated this 5 times on this board, because it’s something CisAwesome misses…
If Fisher were to look at this objectively, she would have mentioned the 42 white kids with lower scores who got in ahead of her. Why didn’t she mention them? That is why people think she is a mediocre racist.
Yes, all of those 5 non-whites. They took a spot away from her. Those other 42 white kids with lower test scores? They deserve to be there! The case wasn’t televised or anything, but I would give anything to hear a judge ask that question: “Abby, why aren’t those 42 white kids targeted in your lawsuit?”
This was your argument yesterday and on every thread about Abigail Fisher. She didn’t make the 10%; 168 people of color who had better grades than her didn’t get in either, but she wasn’t going to focus on them, nor the 42 white kids that had lower scores but got in. Her whole suit hinged on 5 people of color with…
That’s 42 white kids who had lower scores than Fisher and still got in. The number of people of color who had lower scores and got in was 5. Yes, her lawsuit hinged on 5 people of color who got in. There was no mention in the lawsuit about those 42 white kids; her beef wasn’t about them for some reason.
Dude, the answer to your question is in Black Inequality’s original post from the Dallas Observer. Why did the lawsuit focus on the 5 people of color with lower scores who got into UT and not the 42 white people with lower scores who got in before Abigail Fisher?
Thank you for your well-versed argument.
If this is the question you’re asking, then you need to read this.
Oh, Daphne Zuniga! Whatever happened to her?
OMG, I’m still laughing. Love this.
I actually laughed out loud at your comment! Love the indignant righteousness and wished someone would have seen him seat himself next to the 13-year old and kept watch on him.
I teared up.
Yeah, and who’s the guy in the ad up top?
Wow, did they give him cheekbones, a dimple and a chin in the ad?
And how long will building 1,000 ships take? Uncle Euron made it sound like it would take about 6 weeks. When these are huge sailing ships, not canoes. Even building a dozen ships could take over a year. I mean the Iron Born aren't that good if Yara said they are forgotten and cast aside by all the houses.
And it’s Santa Monica. Come on, small city, not that much going on. They should have been there in 5.
