It seems the two scariest words in the piece is “for-profit.” (Maybe that’s one-word descriptive there). When an educational institution needs to make a profit to stay open, then yes, money is the best and only motivator. Everything is secondary to that fact, including the quality of the teaching staff.

My kids do this. I hate it. But, they are also in 1st and 4th, so at least they have an excuse. A preschool director? Not so much.

Having matriculated out of a great preschool, this director’s tone is unprofessional and personally motivated. Every piece of communication from Plant is from a personal place of great defensiveness, when she should be a bigger person, and just massage conflicts instead of stoking them.

Agreed. We live on the Westside, and that is the tuition for a quality, accredited preschool in Los Angeles. Yes, it’s very high and not all schools offer financial aid, but that cost is not enough to pay for all the teachers’ salaries and resources for the school. All private preschools also have annual giving…

Wouldn’t it have been more fair for all the designers then to design for plus-sized women in one challenge? They used to do that: kids’ clothes design challenge; real women challenge (which they do every year); men’s clothes challenge, etc.
