What’s great about her speech is she doesn’t even have to GET 100% of what it means to be Black in America to be an ally. She just has to recognize who is fighting for those rights and speak up when she sees injustice. No purity tests here. She’s got my vote of assurance she knows right from wrong.

Nikki Haley actually said “The people” should decide Trump’s fate, not a bunch of congressmen. Ignoring the fact that congressmen are elected by the people and responsibility for impeachment is in their goddamn job description.

The commenting system sucks.  The users, and the environment that cultivated those users is what’s made the sites what they were.

JFC. A grieving family should be allowed to do just that- grieve- not search for their daughter’s killer because cops can’t or won’t do their job. Disgusting.

The death of Splinter and Deadspin have really f’d me up; I still come here a few times a day, hoping one of the remaining sites will emerge with an interesting political voice. Other people have different core, central beliefs on which they base their entire lives. And some of those beliefs are diametrically opposed to yours.

This is just another reason why the US needs nationalized, single payer, healthcare. Churches shouldn’t be running hostpitals unless those hospitals are regulated the same as any other hospital and have to offer all of the same services, regardless of religious beliefes, to all patients.  This is pure bullshit.
