The Martian movie was so good, but then I read the book which was geeky and tedious

The treacle tart with its breadcrumbs reminded me of one of the ghastliest pastries I’ve eaten: shoofly pie.

Thanks so much for the post. I’m a little late to the party because I had to figure out how to subscribe to PBS Passport. Now I get to watch the season and read your wonderful recaps.

I’m reading ‘Confessions of a Sociopath’, and the author points out that they don’t experience fear.

Yup. I had a healthcare provider maliciously share my health info which was a blatant HIPAA violation. Filed a case with the federal Office of Civil Rights and the attorney who was supposed to be handling it was a jerk to me AND wrongly denied my claim. Her boss is of course a trump appointee. Shit sure trickles

Yup. Anyone see the episode Anthony Bourdain went to Mexico (can’t remember which show) and said it was where like 50% of all US cooks are from?

Whomever is on the side of deportation should never be allowed to eat at ANY restaurant.

Wish they’d get rid of Kodachrome. Worst. Movie. Ever.

Why not? My ex did, which I appreciated. More blow jobs.

I live in Hawaii and we’re having a mumps epidemic. Tourists coming from the mainland, please get vaccinated. We’re isolated islands with rural populations. And yes, I know the parents here need to vaccinate as well. Just making a correlation with NYC visitors.

A MMR vaccine is given in a muscle. The pic above is showing the deltoid muscle. You are supposed to pull back on the plunger to ensure the needle is not in a vein - if you see blood in the syringe like the pic shows, you remove the needle and DO NOT inject there! Also, OP is correct in that most infant vaccines

It’s great as a personal lubricant. It is a semisolid at room temp, so you can keep a container at the bedside and it’s less messy than a liquid lube.

I mix sea salt and coconut oil and use as instead of soap on dry body parts in the shower. Rinse the salt off, towel dry, and the coconut oil leaves a nice soft skin without residual oiliness. My MD also says salt is a good skin disinfectant.

I can’t get past looking at David Letterman’s beard even in the ad for his new show. Is the show worth watching?

“Macronutrients” are a made-up, unscientific word. I assume you refer to actual, non-processed food. In that case, see the post above yours for the ingredient comparison.

I too hate stevia - it has a weird aftertaste that makes me grimace. I use Splenda in coffee at home, but all the “natural cafes/stores” here ONLY have stevia packets for the coffee. Pisses me off. Life’s too short to eat bad-tasting food IMHO.

The show that Alyssa Milano is known for.

Watched ‘Captain Fantastic’ on it last night. Treat yourself and watch it, very underrated.

I live on Kilauea volcano (island of Hawaii), part of the ring of Fire, and check my volcano app daily. It’s “Volcano Up” and it’s free. Highly recommend it.

The twitter-verse says it’s Nikki Haley.
