Gita,

Kamiko: $15 worth of fun for $5.

I thank you.

Hypothetical: if you hadn’t played, but were in love with the genre and heard great things, but hadn’t played that much, would you pick it up on the Switch?

Oh my gosh, I came here to post this. That’s all I could think is that it was a Portlandia spoof of superhero shows.

Not a tough choice. Doom is freaking great once you get used to the blurriness and 30fps. Revelations has been meh

Zelda is so deserved.

Yeah that got me the most. Some of me wants to excuse the camera based on being an early 3D Mario, but it actually seems to have a worse camera than 64. I really dont understand it. Maybe it’s just the verticality and the precision that are ramped up compared to Mario 64, but it’s pretty awful.

Evidence?

Sunshine is okay, but replaying it, I actually liked it more when I played it last year. Probably would have given it a 4/10 when it first came out. 6/10 now. Easily the worst 3D mario, but still better now than on my first play.

Loved it on GC. Played it again on emulator two years ago. It was not as good as I remembered. Sorry!

The Joycons fully emulate the wiimote motion controls. I played World of Goo and it actually worked better than the old Wiimotes.

And people will continue to complain about Skyrim while RE 4 continues to shamble on like a living corpse onto it’s 38th console.

Now playing

Not true. The effect is fully emulated in the joycons. Works even better and more reliably than the old WiiMotes.

Dear Nintendo,

Vita was still a good console. Loved Persona and even the janky Borderlands on it. The problem is that it was underpowered and the memory sticks were outrageously expensive and still are in addition to its poor first-party support. Switch already has more first party software support than Vita did in its entire life.

Dear god, there is something 100% magical about it not only being portable, but also the sleep mode. The two in unison make the Switch something special, even for last-gen games like Skyrim and graphically butchered games like Doom.

I don’t have children, but that’s exactly why I love my Switch as a 30-something. I play before sleeping or on weekends in bed or else on the couch while “watching shows” with the wife.

Yeah this is a port of the 2016 Special Edition, but with reduced draw distance and ground clutter, not a direct port of the 2011 360 version.

Mostly agree. Got it on PS4. Got it on PC. Got it on Switch and that brought it back to life. Loved it until...
