Yeah this is the first "killer" exclusive for me, too. Launch day titles look pretty blah to me for both consoles, other than KI and Deadrising (which I acknowledge are niche games but games that I enjoy). When this comes out 4-6 months after the console cycle, it will change a lot.

Good lord, I want it now. This is the only PS4 exclusive announced this year that really thrills me and it won't be out for at least 4 months after the console's release. I know I told my wife that I'd only buy one console, but when this comes out, it'll be hard for me to resist the lure of this game.

Oh yes, the very definition of fanboy revolves around Microsoft. Very clever.

laughable fanboy-ism. A claim like "M$ doesn't care about games" is as ludicrous as it gets. You can criticize their PR department, but a company doesn't spend 500million on game development and exclusive procurement and not care.

I've watched two Superbowls in 30 years on this planet. Does that mean I'm a fanboy?

O rly?

..and Fuck Apple for advertising features other than making phone calls on their iphones. It's a phone, people! Stop showing games, productivity and other shit!

So...you are a fanboy that wasn't purchasing a XB1, that watched an ad not intended for you and you were unaffected and then came to Kotaku to share your disappointment that an ad not aimed at you for a product you don't want was ineffective.

...not to mention the ad was co-funded by the NFL. It's not so surprising that a M$/NFL ad features the M$ showcasing all the ways that it can interact with the NFL franchise. Just like superhero movies that get NBA money advertise all the sports/action scenes.

Welcome to 2008, when game consoles became entertainment consoles. Even the Wii got in on the game despite having the online presence of a 90-year-old shut-in.

Gotta say— of all the game genres, isometric brawler seems to fit Thor as well as a third-person open-world game fits Spiderman.

There is never enough reason to join the next gen immediately. Change is incremental and no one wants to own a console that only has 2-4 great games. The 3DS was a terrible console when it came out but now has one of the best libraries of any console of that age. It just takes time. A launch console plays all future

I was kidding. I bought about the 5th one Amazon ever sold and am actually looking forward to the console. I just hate all the stupid fanboys that tell stupid jokes like that.

I got a PC up to 5ghz with piezo cooling years ago, but it wouldn't run the new Tomb Raider.

technically it's not "overclocking" but since it's the same architecture and they are adjusting the firmware to set the clock speed higher after seeing the temperature outputs, it is essentially overclocking but done by the hardware manufacturer— who defines the clocking in the first place.

citation?

Why don't they just make one, because that's all they'll sell? Amirite?

Was it? It seems way more likely that you invented something, put words in my mouth and then insulted me in a condescending way.

I think you missed a point somewhere. It's not about how intelligent it is. I'm not sure which strange detour you took to get there.

Wouldn't be as bad if they actually were evolving their message. As it is, they've been saying the same thing since their presser in February. M$ may have flubbed their presser and e3 event, but at least they've evolved in their message. Lately they've been a lot more about games, innovations and highlighting
