Day One editions are sold out for most retailers (at least their guaranteed stock) but you can order the regular edition almost everywhere and the only differences are the paint job on the controller, a paper with an achievement code (that awards no gamer score), and a cooler looking cardboard box.
The 3DS will make you very happy. Good lord there are a lot of great (not just good— GREAT) games on it and more to come.
If it's any consolation, PS4 is still showing pictures of their console with the "included" camera.
The only one of those things that is exclusive to the Day One Edition is the achievement.
Even Nintendo went that way, which is sad. The lower SKU had nothing and even the premium came with only a sampler platter (although a very robust one at that).
Which is why I appreciate it being a separate code and not an automated achievement awarded to the primary XBL account that logs in. I don't care, but I could see them going for 25-40 bucks. The controllers could go for 10-15 bucks over a brand new controller too.
