At a base level, most of those movies end in a woman successfully finding a man. I loved them all, and think there’s plenty of good in them, but the movies we’re seeing now break out of the typical fairytale mold far more.

Oh my God, I loved this movie SOOOOO much. We took the 5-year-old to see it last night, and while he really liked it, I think my husband and I laughed harder and longer than even he did.
as an adult dude with a 7 y.o., I assure you that the overall quality of kid films is much higher than adult fare. I generally laugh out loud several times during movies with JujyJunior.
Obligatory “I take issue with this” comment -
I was always surprised that Baxter didn’t have like 50 half brothers/sisters.
It’s a shame that it took THIS long for studios to go “Hey, if we make characters that both women and men can relate to and craft a thoughtful and good story around them, people might come to see it and we’ll make money!!!!!”
