No substitute for Beyonce live; it’s what turned me from casual fan to superfans ten years ago. Obviously liked it when she did arena shows and could get great seats no binoculars needed. Now I just get premium section standing which has great visibility, especially when I realised I was standing for whole show in

Yassssss. She is SO deserving. Knew nothing about her before randomly being invited to as a plus one for this. A total revelation. And she’s a fellow Essex girl 💃🏽. Thrilled for her, can’t wait to see what she does next.

Can someone come and get the little black girl ‘starring’ in this show, and seated in that photo exactly where Roseanne and her ilk want all of us to be seated. Where are her parents?

About bloody time.

I grew up in a predominantly white environment - I was the only black girl at my primary school, then one of maybe 5, inc mixed race, kids at high school and I’m not fucked up (I won’t even bother to try and demonstrate how I’m not a faulty generalisation). It wasn’t easy. I remember once asking my mum to move to

Didn’t realise I wanted this until you put it out there - she would have been the PERFECT Belle (in addition to the Belle she played perfectly). Fell in love with her as Martha’s scene stealing sister in Doctor Who and just last week my girlfriends and I were talking about why she’s not a bigger star. She left our

It totally does lol

He’s actually Ghanaian and British, but his dad was working in Nigeria. So after incidents like the above, it was easy for him to drop the the accent superquick :( but an hour around his Mum and something between her Ghanaian accent and his childhood Nigerian one comes back.

Loool who knew this word caused so much confusion?

My husband for the longest time didn’t realise that albeit was “all be it.” Bless him he thought one was a word, the other a phrase, even though he understood both. This is not as embarrassing for him as when he first moved from Nigeria to a British boarding school where everybody was too rich and lazy to participate.

Being a Beyonce fan is... not easy.

“Gene Kelly would rise from his grave just to kill Ryan Gosling.”

She invariably uses her power for our collective good. Brava.

Lest we forget that white South ‘Africans’ still ‘own’ (through their evil misdeeds) the vast majority of natural resources, Sandton remains one of the best places in the WORLD to be born white, SA still hasn’t been able to redistribute the land stolen from black people with any effectiveness and white people control

Wow, that is quite the fun fact 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. I just googled and saw Chrisette Michelle won?! There is no justice in the world.

Rachel Dolezal has already scratched up the inside of her thin ass lip with blue magic marker. We’re gonna need tighter security.

Lord. Fan me.

I had an eerily similar experience to hers, with a long four syllable southern African surname, in suburban England. In my language words are written exactly as they’re said, so its not even a hard name to pronounce if you read it out phonetically, people were just ready to be intimidated by it. I had one teacher

It should be a flat a sound so more DA than Duh, and Shona names ending ‘ai’ (which are super common) can just be said as ‘ay’ as in ‘ny’ for hers but are more traditionally pronounced ‘ayi’ in two syllables. I don’t know how this translates with an American accent, or what her preference is. But as someone from a
