No. Like that random poster said: Just because they had a shitty corporate enviroment doesn’t mean they should double down and start locking out men.

It’s never come to that, thankfully. She keeps her hands to herself.

It would have been very simple to just leave it open to anyone, make the invitation to trans and other groups, but dont exclude people who show interest for the event.

One of my co-workers summed it up more like this:

“I don’t think it was the smartest move, I’m not arguing that it wasn’t the right thing to do, just not the smartest. Pulling a 180 like was bound to create an even more toxic environment in my opinion because no one (whether true or not) wants to feel disenfranchised

I don’t get it either. I kick women from my TF2 matches because we don't like nagging. It's just one game room, just find another one.

That’s equality for ya. I keep telling my gf that equality isn’t a buffet where you get to pick and choose where you want to be equal, if you’re in for a penny then you’re in for a pound.

Do the opposite and try hosting a “single room at a single event is off limits for women” that only men can attend. The entire PAX event would had to be shutdown if they even allowed it which they wouldn’t. Even if it somehow got hosted the shaming culture would go wild demonizing anyone who would dare to attend it or

Bullshit.  This is Arena-gate all over again.

You don’t understand equality.

I agree, it's just revenge. Ah well, fuck em. Payback is a mother fucker. And we see how well these crybabies take the shoe being on the other foot. And I'm supposed to believe women are the emotional ones? Huh....

“Tell women that a single room at a single event is off limits to them for a couple of hours and it’s a war crime to be tried at the Hague”

Gamers are fucking garbage. Reddit is fucking garbage. Riot is fucking garbage. It’s disgusting that, despite being given a golden opportunity to fix their corporate culture, Riot seemingly still doesn’t care about the ultimate goal and would rather foster their toxic community.

As a dude, I would be mostly just interested to see how the panel went. If they’re talking about serious issues and problems in the industry, I don’t think it’s best to keep the discussion behind closed doors.

While I don’t agree with everyone’s behavior I do agree with the reasoning. You don’t bring equality by treating the ones who weren’t discriminated against the same way as the ones who were. That’s not equality, that is just revenge.

It’s disappointing to see this happen, especially after Riot claimed they would take steps to change their policies. This is why I tend to gravitate toward multiplayer games with smaller, tight knit communities such as SpyParty. Sure, you might run into a few toxic, disruptive people, but for the most part, there are

Riot asked some employees representing Riot not to publicly engage with the controversy

You can’t take articles like this seriously when there was all the high-fiving and flurry of excuses for the NYT hiring the oozingly racist POS Sarah Jeong. Don’t point fingers at one company for their hiring and promotion practices when you’re praising one that’s arguably worse.

It did feel like a R-Rated Short Circuit

I really liked that movie, although that might have been because it reminded me of the Short Circuit movies I loved as kid.

Too bad for you. You missed a good movie.
