I enjoyed Night People, only because I saw it as kind of a bottle episode and I love it when shows do that.

I think the difference here is that that is Lestat saying Louis’ story is full of shit, where as Molloy never questions Louis on his story in the books while he does in the series.

MAKO FOR LIFE

I’m interested in seeing a little more of Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken.

I am slowly completing my first Cyberpunk playthrough, and I love almost all the cars and motorcycles in it. The designs are wild and mostly angular, evoking designs of the 80s of course.

Don’t forget the M35 Mako from Mass Effect. Sure, it’s not the fastest thing in the galaxy, but how many can stake their claim on being able to scale mountains at a near absolute 90 degree angle?

I’ll have you know pre-Disney Star Wars was nothing but the highest levels of integrity:

Something about those alien fishermen reminded me of 1980s Henson Creature Shop creations, both in their dialogue and their appearance.

Between the dogfight and last week’s monologue (and the rest), Luthen in my mind is already an all-time classic Star Wars character. That Imperial stop-and-search was so insanely tense I thought the whole thing was going to end in a Game of Thrones penultimate shock death, and when he ripped the tractor beam to pieces

Nitpick #2:  Those aren’t the “hard-working fisher aliens” sleeping in Cassian’s old hotel room, they are just random alien guests of the same hotel.  Different species entirely.  And why would Cassian need to tip toe through the room and sneakily retrieve his box if the room was occupied by his friends/liberators?

Nitpick:  Luthen’s “fake credentials” actually do work, the Imperial captain just proceeds with the planned boarding “for practice” and because he’s a dick.

Of course the Mothma scene imparts new information. It tells us that Leida is weirdly embracing her creepy-ass Chandrilian conservative roots and might not actually MIND being packaged off to another guy. Which does little to quell Mon’s anguish over it, since she knows how shitty those arrangements turn out to be.

I love how all the aliens on this show are basically Terry Gilliam characters.

How does it shine a light on the toxicity of patriarchy when patriarchy are inherantly the “good guys” in this scenario?

Are there any other matriarchies in Faerun? Because if this is the only one then yeah, it being evil is a problem.

Now come back to the EU, you c**s!

It’s not a societal critique, it is 100% just an assumption. Just like Dark Skinned=Evil.

I’ve been re-reading the Legend of Drizzt this year, and the difference between the Icewind Dale Trilogy and the Dark Elf Trilogy is insane. I’d be hard pressed to even call the Icewind Dale books decent, but DET is legitimately good in many places.  Salvatore really grows a writer as the series goes on.

No, it won’t. I know about the Hays Code. They’re both absurd. The MPAA is the direct descendant of the Hays Code. It’s function is the same - make sure Hollywood movies conform to a certain arbitrary and puritanical “moral” standard. The only difference is that the MPAA adds a layer of obfuscation to tis proceeding

Also if they are going to do a proper R-rated Constantine don’t just go for the cliched tortured anti-hero who is really a good guy underneath it all. Go for the character who really is a proper bastard.
