Correction: The boss you probably meant to name was *Godrick* the Grafted. There is no Godfrey the Grafted, though there is a Godefroy the Grafted, a miniboss.

I’m of a different mind here. I didn’t think the final act of the movie fit in with the tone and the stakes of what came before it. (Don’t get me wrong, I still really, really liked this film.)

I mean he’s got a point. This is a picture of Cairo in 1980, even a few years earlier than the movie. It’s a city. Hollywood does have a habit of showing Cairo like it’s perpetually the dig site from Indiana Jones.
