I visited last spring, and saw a few who were rather stereotypical — or were posers convincing enough for a tourist’s eyes: buzzcuts, pencil mustaches and garish suits.

I know it’s not more expensive, that’s why I suggested the option. My point was, they were working on a limited budget, but I feel that they could have achieved a better look for the same money. 

Still not sure why they didn’t go with cel-shaded style when they had to work with this basic models. I’m sure that there were serious budget considerations behind this show’s production, but they could have still gotten a better look for the money.

The timeline doesn’t coincide perfectly with the books. It’s an adaptation, not a perfect recreation. They probably fudged the numbers to ensure that Geralt would be old and experienced throughout, but for Yennefer’s ascension still to happen while Calanthe and Foltest are already born to establish the timeline.
