I am from India and we eat a large variety and types of lentils in our regular diet. There’s a reason we don’t eat them raw or under cooked - under cooked lentils contain phytic acid which makes it hard for your body to digest and absorb minerals. Under cooked lentils may also cause gastric distress.

Back to Her Roots looks like your typical blogger babe bullshit advice and information from someone who doesn’t really have anything valuable to offer. Her “Natural Living” section is basically “homemade” products that consist of taking 7 different commercial products and mixing them in your own container and printing

Not only is this incredibly misleading but it is horrible advice. This is far from a protein powder and even moderate priced protein powders are some of the cheapest forms of protein available.

this is not good. as a vegetarian, I also concur w/ the other comment-ers that this ISN’T protein powder. This is just carbs w/ a higher amount of protein than usual. Also, I don’t understand why you would eat uncooked dried legumes and other grains....no one ever suggests adding uncooked wheat flour - which would be

Couldn't agree more.

I pay $65 for a 72-scoop tub of really great whey powder (Gold Standard Natural). That’s about 90 cents for 24g protein and no sucralose or other weird additives. I think it’s a great bang for the buck when you add the convenience of a shake. The trick is to buy large tubs, not little ones. Comes out cheaper than

This is not “protein powder”. This is ground up legumes. It’s got more carbs in it than it does protein. Also eating raw lentils and raw rice is extremely problematical for a lot of people. They can actually interfere with the absorption of other nutrients. This article really needs to be removed. It’s completely and

Or if you’re looking in my fridge: Ketchup, 1/2 a pickle, some water, expired yogurt crockpot freezer meal

‘then why the hell am I paying for this now?’

Yay! Finally someone who shares the same opinion. As a Librarian, I’m always recommending to students to pick up the audiobook with the book, especially students with learning difficulties like dyslexia (who usually prefer to listen vs. read). Not only can you learn new words - did you honestly pronounce all those

Or borrow both from your friendly library.

To say that “[y]ou need to go back and reread things” and that ”[y]ou need to take breaks to mull over the details” seems like a bit of an overstatement. I almost never do that with fiction, and I hardly think I’m alone. Do you watch movies that way too?

That is where those filthy machines belong.

Thank goodness. I see they were trying to mimic the overhauled Google Drive/Docs look but the bookmarks overhaul was so convoluted and made it near impossible to move things around. Very happy to see the old faithful bookmark manger back.

One of my best Ingress experienecs was going adventuring with one of my teammates who was a neighbor that lived a couple blocks away from me. We chartered a sailboat with some other people and went on a multi-day sailing/hiking trip primarily, but had a secondary objective of securing a very difficult to access portal

Oh frak me this makes me so homesick. I’mma go home and make some tonight now that Serious Eats also published a recipe for gai yang.

Precisely!

When I first saw these, I was really intrigued. And I was in the market for a new set of monitors too, so I actually considered one. However, I think there are some personal preference things that might make me weird:

I noticed this when Degree went from being 100% unisex to offering men and women's versions. Overnight, the women's version became smaller and cost more, while the mens' got broader and cheaper.
