They got rid of the grille, great, that makes sense, but they kept this sort of outline of where a grille would go. It would’ve looked a whole lot better had they not included that edge that cut across the front and arcs down on both sides. It just looks like someone stretched a piece of silk across a Focus ST’s

IMO the car would be better served with a faux grille; it just seems like the blank space is missing something

No way that car ships with that interior (or lack thereof).

I find the lack of front grill deeply unsettling. I understand that it isn’t needed, but if so then why does it look like they had it designed for a grill but then just didn’t cut it out of the plastic or whatever. It has the outline of a grill, but no grill. I think it would look better with a more sloped nose

Knock Knock.... 2008 just called. Have you looked at the latestr job reports? We’re down to around 4% unemployment, which is actually lower than it was pre-recession. The job market is actually doing well. Hence why people have disposable incomes. But even so, why is a 35k Tesla more expenive than the big-ass honkin

It’s a $1,000 refundable deposit and they’re securing a $7,500 tax credit which will run out. What you’re saying makes sense in general but these people are waiting for something that’s scarce.

Except that the Tesla will have better performance numbers and better range and better tech because they’re five years ahead on the highest cost component in an EV. Batteries. It isn’t close.

It’s a fully refundable deposit. What’s there to lose other than the interest on that?

GM doesn’t have a charging network. A 200 mile electric car isn’t much more useful than an 80 mile electric car if you don’t have sufficient charging infrastructure. Plus, this is a refundable reservation, no reason anyone can’t just cancel and buy the bolt anyway.

woah woah wait... a 35K car WITH 7500$ tax incentive... thats only 27.5K... For a 300 miles (aprox) electric car... damn... if i wasnt a college student id be doing the same.

I almosted cried laughing the first time I saw this. Chris Diamantopoulos as Hanneman has been amazing.

I am so ready for Season 3. DOORS LIKE THIS!

The car (with billionaire doors, by the way) is an insane feat of engineering,...

comparing his crapbox to any of the rigs he was running with is a path fraught with peril - plus, as is clearly said - it’s my opinion, like it or lump it... don’t care

Hmmm.. I’m torn. I think it’s awesome that you went and wheeled Moab. However, as someone who started with crapboxes and eventually built my own multi-thousands Jeep substitute - I think, perhaps, you’ve missed the point. You are correct in that it’s not a competition, and you are totally correct (and commended) for

Mate Rimac’s recent Stanford talk is really worth a watch.

Never really paid much attention to them (must’ve been the vaporware article...) but it has to be said, that is seriously impressive!

Wow. I really dig these guys. Check out their wheelchair mod, it is the best edition of “Pimp My Ride” ever! Seriously, 60km range on a powerchair?!?! That’s amazing, and potentially life-changing. Bravo, guys!

I’m glad we’re hearing about these guys again. I was fearing they’d be just another vaporware hypercar company.

An automatic transmission will be the only available gearbox.
