For MK9 I would think they would come up with a new game that includes the DLC tracks.

There's also the issue of compatibility. I had my childhood nes modded with the hdmi board a few years back along with the blinking light win, which fixes the cartriage slot design flaw, and my games are working better with modern tvs (except of course Duck Hunt).
