They get practically sharper, which is all most photogs give a damn about, until diffraction kicks in.

Here’s the actually tl;dr of this post:
Yes, God forbid directors experiment with filming techniques that some rando on the internet doesn’t like.
Thanks for so succinctly articulating my issues with the original comment (although I appreciate how well-written and in-depth it was, and the obvious effort put in to it) in a way that I wouldn't have been able to.
Dude it’s a >1,000 word attempt to prove logically that a skinny depth of field makes you a “hack”. Someone’s got a chip on their shoulder is all I’m saying
OR... and hear me out... No one can do cinematography wrong as you’re presenting... because it is a creative medium, and a specific form of subjective expression without a “correct” way to do things used in service of specific texts. In this case with Snyder, you might not like how it looks, or vibe with the style,…
Zack Snyder living rent-free in an awful lot of heads on here
It’s almost perfectly distilled absurdist comedy.
I mean, he’s clearly talking about “cancelled” as in “not renewed” or “not getting past the pilot stage,” but OK, whatever.
Thanks! I went out to Rough Trade at least once a month for years...but the last year or so, I noticed it was struggling: They were discounting a lot of inventory, new stuff wasn’t showing up on the racks as quickly. Clearly this decision was on the table for a long time, and, again, if this keeps them in business,…
Fellow guitarist and non-Prince fan here as well (although the guy does have some great songs: give credit where credit is due) and it’s good, bud I don’t get the lavish love for it.
Not really a Prince fan (especially when I learned a bit about how his marketing machine were pushing the “god-like genius” line) but I have to say that’s not a bad guitar solo.
This is exactly why I say that Prince is the best musician of my lifetime. He was a multi-musician, a producer, a writer, and just damn did everything. Including assless chaps at the MTV music awards, but whatever. He kicked ass. Prince is a God. Not -the- God, but definitely -a- God.
This shit looks like Hydrox Malcom and Marie
I never got the argument that steampunk is played out because there hasn’t really been a piece of mainstream media that has been steampunk and successful. You have cult classic things like The Difference Engine and The Warlord of the Air or the Girl Genius webcomic, but the average person doesn’t know about those. You…
Any time I hear DMX, I always think back to my high school sports and weight room. You want to get fired up? You put on some motherfucking DMX. It’s impossible to not get hyped.
Agreed. I isn’t a typical episode of HDTGM. We got serious art nerd Jason instead of WHAT’S UP JERKS! It is far from a newbie episode, it’s lacking in jokes and wild humour. I appreciated the discussion; I also got bored about 2/3 through. And of course, it lacks June and Jason calling Paul out and double teaming him…
I dunno, I thought the pod was going to be a total shredfest and it was more positive and just... *Interesting* than I anticipated. It was more of a serious discussion than a typical HDTGM joke fest. Jason liked it, and was fine with that, but also says this isn’t his lane. All four agree that ZSJL is probably his…
I feel like Watchmen deserves to be considered its own thing separate from classic DC heroes (it’s clearly a commentary on them, but it doesn’t actually use them), but Moore still gave us The Killing Joke so he’s not off the hook.
Yo man, what’s yer favorite flavor of boot? I dig the earthy leather of Docs, but have a sweet tooth for Timbs.
