#4 is the one that astounds me the most. How can the model be winning a massive share of the subscription base AND raising prices AND needing to show subscription count growth year-over-year?? There’s no way to survive long-term if stagnation in user growth counts as a loss.
This math still doesn’t seem to math? Even if 3 billion of the cut comes from content budget, that still works out to:
(5.5bn - 3bn)/7,000 = $357,143
The folks getting laid off have to average a 350k+ yearly cost to the company... even inclusive of benefits, tax, and social security - this seems like a very high number…
