The entire point of the article is talking about charging non tesla cars at superchargers, which until recently has not been an option. It was Tesla only.
They work in every other developed country, are safer, and can reduce emissions, while improving traffic flow.

I’d recommend the Magnason supercharger instead. It was a toyota factory option at one point.
