Oh yay... we’re getting History Channel Vikings instead of.. you know, actual Vikings...

Real-life Vikings wore helmets (without horns, in case this needs to be repeated), various kinds of armor*, and very little leather.

Oh yeah, and at that period of time, NO ONE would have had a sword as long the one that the

oof imagine if Splinter Cell went from stealth to cinematic combat...scary

No one used the word “real” but if we want to talk about what is the real AC, Patrice Desilets and the earlier games are exhibit A. These newer ones are just borrowing the AC name because Ubi wouldn’t greenlight them otherwise

Not assassin’s creed. At this rate Ubi, don’t even bother with making a new Splinter Cell.

When in doubt use “anime” as a pejorative and pretend you’re not a closet xenophobe

“HE CALLED ME BABE. ABUSE. ABUSEEEE. Even though unlike real abuse I can easily mute him and not interact. BUT ABUSEEEE."

Says the poor little bby who gets hurt and cries over the mean words. Boohoo. Grow up, grow some thicker skin, use the mute button.

Waaaaaahhhhh. Poor bbies.

Game didn’t make you climb 59 flights of stairs. you chose to and stated as much. why lie in the headline?

Having seen these guys’ storytelling in the past twenty years...god, they are going to fuck this up so badly. The point of VII is that it was a mass deconstruction of a TON of 90s RPG tropes. Our “plucky resistance” is a bunch eco-terrorists, the “evil empire” is a hypercapitalist megacorp, the “pure, naive maiden’ is

The more I hear about changes to the story and gameplay, the less I want to play Remake. I always wanted pretty much a perfect copy of the original game. Just update graphics, fix some old typos (this guy are sick), and maybe throw in a few minor extras to go along with a more detailed world. Instead they have changed

I just wish the Whispers weren’t in the game. I fear the meta-message of “we need to break free of the past game” will hamper Remake from being a classic in its own right. I also can’t imagine it made a lot of sense to people who haven’t played the original.

The problem isn’t in the reimagining of the game at all. It’s entirely the idea that I paid $80, not $60, for what amounts to a demo with sub-par graphics, modeling, weighting, and while plenty of areas in video games require flat images, these are obvious attempts to save money while preying on the fans.

I wouldn’t be upset about the changes if they didn’t signal such a clear departure for the tone of the game. All the grounded, character driven story that the remake did such a good job with now looks like it’ll be completely ignored in favour of huge leaps of faith, doors of destiny, Exposition-Aerith and let’s face

Shouldnt have marketed it as a remake when it's not a remake its a retconn fan fiction. They market it as final fantasy 7 being remade for the current generation and that's just not what it is. And nobody knew that until they released it. Because then old fans might not have spent 60$ on their stupid part 1 retconn of

Its haunted by the battle system of FF 15 more than anything.

I’ve been negative on this remake since it was announced, and I’ve basically shifted towards skipping it entirely as I’ve learned more about it. I was planning on buying it for cheap at one point prior to release, and then my interest plummeted when I heard about the new ending. At this point, I guess I’m waiting to

Like everyone else I’m pretty conflicted about this, because they absolutely could have just actually remade the original game. The parts that were remade in FF7R were done really, really well, and if they would have just remade the original game and story like this I’m convinced they would have knocked it out of the

Setting up the ground work so that Aerith doesn’t die is pretty stupid, any way you try and spin it. So is calling it “remake” when it isn’t. So is breaking up the game into multiple entries.

Bottom line, if I have to play a new RPG released by Square Enix this quarantine, It’ll be Trials of Mana.

I’ll never get how someone can say something “looks” better when talking about sprite work. Sprites are forever good. Doesn’t matter how much time has passed they are still brilliant.
