The anime will follow the game to a point but is doing a anime original story overall and is tying into Berseria (which is a prequel to Zestiria). This weekends episode, for example, is actually going to deal entirely with Berseria.

This season at least has more shows than last for me to enjoy with Zestiria, Arslan, Alderaman, Servamp and the wtf am I watching rewrite. And of course the continuation of Re:Zero. It’s just due to scheduling. The manga isn’t a concern as the source is a novel (there are changes by Arakawa but she works with the anime).
